Collection: Denim Tears

Denim Tears

Denim Tears is Tremaine Emory's label, and it is closer to a research project than a clothing line. The Cotton Wreath — a ring of cotton blossoms — is its central image, printed on American sportswear to make a point about where cotton came from and who picked it. The clothes are good; the argument is the reason they exist.

The Cotton Wreath

The wreath runs across nearly everything here. Mono Cotton Wreath pieces put it in a single colour — black, pink and neon green shorts and sweatpants — while the standard version prints it in full colour. Camo Cotton Wreath sweatpants come in blue and pink, and there is a Big Cotton Wreath hoodie in purple and a white camo Cotton Wreath puffer jacket.

The University range

The collegiate side of the label, cut and printed like classic American campus sportswear. Long sleeves in brown and navy, a yellow zip hoodie with a matching sweatpant, and sweatpants in red and light blue.

Collaborations

The CPFM Cactus Tears Wreath sweatpants, in yellow and navy, made with Cactus Plant Flea Market — the wreath redrawn in that studio's hand.

Sizing and fit

Sizes run S to XXL, cut relaxed in the way American collegiate sportswear is cut — roomy but not cropped or boxy. Sweatpants are the deepest part of the range here and sit wide through the leg. Every product page carries the measured chart in inches.

Where this stock comes from

Denim Tears releases in small runs through a handful of stockists, so almost everything available afterwards is secondary. Everything we carry is bought either direct from the brand or from a partner who sources directly from the brand, so every piece traces back to the source. It ships from our own stock here in the US.
